WHAT IS CHECKMATE?
Checkmate is the ultimate aim in a game of chess so it stands to reason that to score points in tournament chess we will need to be skilled in the ‘art of checkmate’.

The course examines the most common forms of checkmate including classics such as the Kiss of Death and Back Rank mate. These checkmates, and variations on the same theme, occur so often that practicing and perfecting delivering these checkmates is sure to give an edge to your game.

But, and if you are a schoolboy or girl you may not like the sound of this, there is work to be done if you want to get there.

We have the solution: join Grandmaster Danny King and WFM Sarah Longson, who have both played for England, for a fun, quick and easy lesson in how to get good at chess.

Sarah and Danny are expert teachers and their course is full of puzzles that you have to solve – and when you’ve them you can say you know how to checkmate and win!

You will learn the skills you need without even realising it! Finish all four parts of this series and you will be prepared.
